CALL FOR CRITICAL REVIEWS: CONTEMPORANEITY 5
DEADLINE: June 30th, 2016
CONTEMPORANEITY 5: CALL FOR CRITICAL REVIEWS
Contemporaneity invites submissions for critical reviews of art exhibitions and catalogues, film screenings, and books for its 5th edition (Autumn 2016). We are seeking original, unpublished reviews of art history and visual studies publications (2014 or later), and reviews of art
exhibitions or film screenings (on view during 2016). As our 5th edition focuses on the dual themes of agency and reenactment examining the dynamics of visual culture, human relations, and time to question the artwork, its makers, and its audience reviews of texts or exhibitions that deal with (either or both of) these themes are especially welcome. Please see the short list below of suggested exhibitions for review, although we welcome reviews of other art and film exhibitions around the world.
Reviews should be between 900-1200 words and adhere to the Chicago Manual of Style. Submissions can take a variety of forms (e.g. edited interviews, conversations, conference reviews) as long as they adhere to word count specifications. Submit reviews by June 30, 2016 via the Contemporaneity Journal online submission portal. Click “Register” and create an Author Profile to get started. Submissions will be evaluated based on originality, timeliness, readability, and relevance to Contemporaneity's content areas. Contemporaneity is an open access online journal and does not offer compensation to authors.
